Interest rate that can change over time, but whose change is not necessarily linked to a specific financial index. The variable rate can be adjusted by the lender according to the financial institution's policies, market conditions or other factors determined by the loan agreement. Although variable rates can be influenced by the market, these do not necessarily have a direct relationship with a specific financial index.
